What’s behind the name Moon Pigeon you might ask? You know that child-like-wonder when you think about the vastness of outer-space and the possibilities of all that could be? Moon Pigeon is meant to evoke that sense of wonderment. The term “moon pigeon” originally was used by NASA as a way to call out unidentified flying objects. It’s a nod to Emily’s love for the mysterious and unknown; and it speaks to the way she challenges herself to innovate and create out-of-the-box designs and goods. The name also serves as a reminder that good design and art pushes the viewer and takes them to places outside their comfort zone.

Hello from Emily

Hello! I’m Emily Hamm, owner of Moon Pigeon. I’m a designer, illustrator, and printmaker based in Oklahoma City. In 2016 I went out on my own ready to for something new after many years at a retail in-house design department. I provide graphic design services, consulting, and goods. Helping clients develop their brands through logo design and other brand collateral is a passion. On the flip side, as a maker, I develop my own line of goods including hand-printed art prints, cards, holiday ornaments and more. I create in our 100-yr-old farm house surrounded by my four-legged co-workers. A strong geometric theme, vibrant colors, and patterns run throughout my work. I believe artwork should spread joy and creativity as a reflection of our creator.
